Casual Mondays

by Kaylee Pare

Raquel Zimmerman blew me out of the water in Vogue Italia´s November issue shot by Steven Meisel. I love an editorial that tells a story, it really comes to life on the page (- or screen). This editorial is also the perfect subject for a Casual Monday, as it depicts Raquel on the subway dressed in runway looks from Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Dior, standing out among the city´s suits. Have a chic week!

Casual Mondays

by Kaylee Pare

While of course, casual monday is where I poke fun at images that undoubtedly make us all think “really? is this happening?”, I have to say that I do love this image of Arizona Muse from August 2011 Vogue UK. The styling is gorgeous and I’m happy the dog isn’t a puffy poodle or a posh Yorkie. Midi lengths like this one have caught my eye lately, and I find them so ladylike and classy. Maybe this will inspire you to throw on a skirt next time you’re taking a stroll around the block, sans ou avec pup. Have a splendid week!

Casual Mondays

by Kaylee Pare

This week’s casual monday is brought to you by dark couture gowns, overbearing silhouettes, regal hair accessories and outrageously immense gates. I expect someone very important lives within these walls, the question is, who cuts those hedges in the background? Ouch.

Pick Me Up

by Kaylee Pare

Obsessed with these i-D covers featuring Lindsey Wixson, Raquel Zimmermann, Riley Keough, Gisele Bundchen, Natasha Poly and Kreayshawn. Finally something different than the usual celebrity in a gown!

I’ve got your back.

by Kaylee Pare

There’s nothing sexier than a little bare back accent, much better than any plunging neckline or short hem in my opinion. I also love a good bold bow, so very delicate no matter the size, and utterly feminine.

Casual Mondays

by Kaylee Pare

I always wear 5-inch wedges to the beach…don’t you? Those sunglasses are killing me, I think I have a sunglass fetish. Anyway lovelies, have a great week and don’t forget to wear out your summer pieces before it’s too late! Linen, cutoff denim, jersey dresses, sandals, and all that good stuff. xo

First to the party

by Kaylee Pare

As you may know, it’s not even August 1st yet. But despite that, the fashion industry is speeding ahead like usual. Exhibit A: We are already being presented with September covers. As the latecomers introduce their August issues, the speedy and over-prepared bring us September. It’s impressive, and I have no problem with it. If you aren’t constantly browsing the online fashion sphere, here are a few September 2011 covers that are beautiful and welcomed early birds.

Casual Mondays

by Kaylee Pare

So I’ve decided to make this a weekly thing, although I don’t have the best track record with those ever since my Weekend To-Do’s. Even so, it may just make these painful Mondays a little more cheerful. What else are pictures of girls in gowns doing regular things (like strutting in NYC from last week) for? They’re slightly farfetched and unimaginable scenes, but they make us smile none the less. Maybe one day we’ll throw on some couture Oscar de la Renta and do our laundry, an oxymoron at its absolute best. Have a lovely week!

Non Stop Stylish

by Kaylee Pare

Like most girls, I am obsessed with Sarah Jessica Parker. Not just because she starred in one of the best shows of the century, but because she is intelligent, beautiful, kind, talented and oh-so stylish. Naturally, when she had twins with her husband Matthew Broderick through a surrogate a few years back (joining their son, James Wilkie), I was instantly mesmerised by her mommy-on-the-go style. I was so excited when I saw the following editorial; with all of the family starring in it, and SJP (not surprisingly) wearing the latest from the runways (including Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler, Bottega Veneta, Chanel and more).  The editorial was photographed by Mario Testino for Vogue’s August 2011 issue.
Of course, the pictures are a bit far-fetched, I don’t think any of our mothers wore couture while child-rearing, but if nothing else, editorials allow us to enter into a world of fantasy. At least we know the family and the fun in these images are real!

Color Now: Yellow

by Kaylee Pare

source

Nothing screams summer like the color yellow- bringing thoughts of bright walks in the park and lounging pool-side with only your favorite shades blocking the sunshine. Yellow is also a cheery color to wear when you need that one extra part of your day to shine lightheartedly and remind you that the smallest things can make you smile. Red lips, tan leather and dark denim are the perfect accents to this beaming color. A sweet yellow dress or a small lemony clutch will become your favorite go-to pieces for the coming summer days.
